About Launch Register

On this page

Launch Register is operated by Dawson Digital Ventures Ltd (company number 17463710), registered in England and Wales, trading as Launch Register. This page sets out who is responsible for the service, what it does and does not do, and how to check or correct anything it shows you.

What Launch Register does

Launch Register is built for small UK accountancy practices that want a repeatable way to find newly incorporated companies worth reviewing. It filters public Companies House data against a practice's own search rules and turns the result into a reviewable list inside a user-controlled review and outreach workflow — the practice decides what happens at every step, including whether to make contact at all.

Launch Register does not hold exclusive or private company data: every company it shows also appears on the public Companies House register. It does not verify the people behind a company, does not guarantee that any match will become a client, and does not provide legal, tax or anti-money-laundering advice. Deciding whether and how to approach a company, and carrying out any client due diligence, remains the practice's own responsibility.

Source and independence

Company data comes from the public Companies House register, made available under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Launch Register is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of Companies House or any other UK government body, and it has no special or non-public access to the register.

Who is responsible for what

The table below is an original summary, not a legal document. It distinguishes what Companies House provides, what Launch Register does with it, and what stays the practice's own responsibility.

Who is responsible for what
Companies House Launch Register The practice
Data accuracy Maintains the register and accepts what companies file. Reads filed data as published; does not independently verify it. Treats a filed record as a starting point, not a confirmed fact.
Filtering and matching Provides no filtering of its own register. Filters and matches records against the practice's saved search rules. Defines and reviews the rules a profile uses to match.
Relevance judgement Takes no view on relevance. Shows a match and the reasons behind it; does not score or recommend companies. Decides whether a matched company is genuinely worth reviewing further.
Contact decisions and compliance Plays no part in any approach. Provides workspace tools to record decisions and contact; gives no legal or compliance advice. Decides whether, how and when to make contact, and that doing so is lawful.
Client onboarding and AML checks Plays no part in onboarding a client. Has no role in onboarding a client or in any anti-money-laundering check. Carries out its own client due diligence and AML checks before acting for a company.
Corrections Corrects the register itself, on request, through its own process. Corrects how a record is displayed if Launch Register introduced the error. Reports a suspected error to whichever of the two is responsible for it.

Contact and corrections

For any question about the service, or to report an error in how a record is displayed, see Contact Launch Register. Product Data and Methodology explains how company data is sourced, filtered and presented, including the correction route for the underlying Companies House record.
